Joel Johnson
Bio
Joel is in his eighth year of teaching at Truth Academy where he is responsible for teaching 7th-12th grade history. Joel considers teaching history at Truth Academy a privilege because it allows him to incorporate several of his passions into one setting: Jesus Christ, students and history. Joel has had an interest and love for history since he was young and enjoys seeing the students at Truth learn and enjoy history.
Joel was born in Kansas, but did most of his growing up in Nixa, MO and graduated from Nixa High School in 2002. He began his post-high school education at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield and then transferred to Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO where he graduated in 2007 with a degree in Christian Ministry/Youth Ministry and a minor in Psychology. Joel has been in youth ministry for the past 15 years and has been the Youth Minister at Pleasant Home Baptist Church since September 2007.
Joel, and his beautiful wife Laura, were married in November 2006 and have four children: Kinlsey(7), Micah(5), Isaiah(2), & Noah(8 months). It's always an adventure at the Johnson house! Joel, Laura and their family live in Strafford.
In his spare time, Joel enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, which include: the Chiefs, Cardinals, Royals and the Kansas State Wildcats.
