Robin Thompson
Bio
Robin is in her sixth year as a first grade teacher for Truth Academy. Robin graduated from Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State University) in December 1990 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. She moved to Georgia with her husband, Dean Thompson, shortly after graduation, so he could complete military training. Upon returning to Missouri in the summer of 1991, Robin was hired by the Aurora School District to teach a third grade class during the teacher's maternity leave. She finished the 1991-1992 school year in Aurora as a teacher's assistant.
After leaving Aurora, Robin taught in the Crane School District as a half-day gifted teacher and half-day teacher's assistant during the 1992-1993 school year. Her most recent public school teaching position was from 1993-1996 in a first and second grade split-class in the Miller School District. Robin decided to leave teaching in 1996 when her first child was born.
Since 1996, Robin has been rearing her four children, as well as helping in church as a nursery director and Vacation Bible School worker. She is presently working in a ministry called Good News Club through her church, South Campbell Avenue Baptist. After homeschooling for six years she was hired by Truth Academy to teach first grade. Two of her children graduated from Truth Academy and Robin and one of her other children are actively involved in Truth Academy and enjoy the education and the environment it offers.
